American Cancer Society Relay for Life
Friday, June 25th, 2010
Relay For Life is a unique, fun-filled, overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of eight to 15 people camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking around a track. Participants enjoy activities, entertainment, and food throughout the event. Members from businesses, community organizations, school clubs, and churches join cancer survivors, their families and friends with the same goal in mind. Every event kicks off with a special lap of cancer survivors and a reception in their honor. At nightfall luminarias light up the track, each bearing the name of a cancer survivor or someone lost to the disease. For information about the Relay For Life near you, call (800) 227-2345 or visit www.relayforlife.org. |
